Hypnobirthing is the use of a number of tools,such as, positive affirmation,meditation,aroma therapy and visualizations to relax the body,maintain positive thoughts and control breathing.Releasing fear or anxiety surrounding birth through regular practice and familiarising our body and mind with them may help avoid unnecessary interventions.
The philosophy behind hypnobirthing is rooted in the idea that fear and tension can interfere with the birthing process, leading to increased pain and complications. By practising relaxation techniques and positive affirmations, expectant mothers can enter a state of deep relaxation during labor, allowing their body to work efficiently and comfortably.
The Positive Birth Program
The Positive Birth Program is a combination of pregnancy/birth education and HypnoBirthing. Most women in the modern world have been led to believe that pregnancy and birth are to be feared, leading the process to become unnecessarily medicalized at certain times.
The program itself has been created in collaboration with obstetricians, midwives and women of other professions relating to the field, to give women the optimal chance at a positive birth.
We understand that medical interventions are not only necessary, but lifesaving in certain situations. We simply encourage our mothers to make informed decisions based on up-to-date research, in order to walk away from their births feeling empowered.

Meet Your Practitioner
As a mother of four and a Hypnobirthing Australia certified practitioner, I've personally witnessed the transformative power of a positive birthing experience. My passion is fuelled by a desire to ensure every woman has access to the knowledge and support needed for a fulfilling birth, drawing from my own diverse experiences across the spectrum of childbirth. I leverage my skills and experience to make Hypnobirthing accessible to all women, aiming to empower them to understand and embrace the principles of the Positive Birth Program. If you carry any reservations about birth and have some unhelpful beliefs and thoughts about it, then this course is for you. We aim to teach mothers how to practically release this fear from their bodies while conditioning the mind to be “open” and relaxed. Please note, if you have scheduled a caesarean section, this course is not very helpful to you. Please contact Zena to discover an alternative course to help you birth via caesarean positively.
The Positive Birth Program is suitable for any woman who is at any stage of her pregnancy. (So long as she is not scheduled for a caesarean section).
The Positive Birth Program was put together by a team of professional, qualified hypnotherapists, midwives and obstetricians. It is approved by official Health Bodies in Australia and the UK and has been completed by many health practitioners also. You’d be very lucky to end up with a midwife who is also a HypnoBirthing practitioner!
Face-to-face at our Docklands space which is conveniently equipped with a kitchen and lots of space for our mothers to practice the techniques taught during the program. It is possible to schedule a 1:1 online delivery, if travel is not possible, however, at sojourn we really value our face-to-face interactions.
Your comfort is of utmost importance to us, therefore, we recommend that you invite an individual you know will support you through your pregnancy and birth. It can be your spouse, your other, sister, friend, etc. Just keep in mind, they will also need to be free and able to help you implement what you learn when it’s time for you to receive your baby.
The running time is 10AM to 6PM with two mini break and an hour break in between, over two consecutive Sundays. This gives you a chance to digest what we’ve covered and to explore the resources we have given you access to. It is very relaxed and informal, and we welcome questions and comments along the way.
